Invitation to hear President Zelenskyy

I am delighted to share a unique and very special invitation with you.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will address the Association of American Universities this coming Monday, May 16, at 8:00 a.m. PDT. The AAU is a consortium of America’s leading research universities. Students, faculty, and staff at UCI will be able to stream President Zelenskyy’s address live on YouTube.

President Zelenskyy will speak about how an international network of institutions, including UCI, is currently helping displaced Ukrainian students and scholars continue their education and research; outline his forward-thinking vision for higher education in postwar Ukraine; and engage in a Q&A with the leaders of AAU institutions.

It is remarkable that in the midst of what is literally a life-and-death struggle, where the outcome is far from certain, Ukraine’s leaders are already developing plans for rebuilding their nation. I hope you will all join me in attending this historic event and hearing firsthand from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
