Community Safety Survey

I am writing today to ask each of you to complete the UCI Community Safety Survey. It will take only about 15 minutes of your time, and your participation is vital to its success.

This survey is UCI’s fulfilment of a key recommendation by the UC Presidential Task Force on Policing, and the entire university should lend a hand in making sure our community responds to this survey so sufficient data are collected for a meaningful report.

To ensure that survey responses come from the UCI community, participants will be asked to log into their UCI accounts in order to access the survey. However, none of this log-in information will be stored or associated with their responses. All survey data will be anonymous and only reported in aggregate to preserve privacy.

The information that you are asked to provide anonymously includes interactions with our campus police, perceptions of campus police activity, use of relevant services and programs, as well as your suggestions to improve the safety of everyone on our main campus and at our medical center.

Again, all responses will be recorded anonymously and reported only in aggregate to maintain confidentiality. If you choose, you may submit your name for the chance to win one of four $75.00 prizes awarded each week.

I am authorizing all supervisors to allocate 15-20 minutes for staff to complete the survey. The survey will close on Friday, April 29.

Make your voice heard! I urge each of you to join me in completing the UCI Community Safety Survey and help make a safer and more secure community for us to live, work, and study.

Fiat Lux.
