Be Sure to Vote!
Dear Anteater Community:
Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 14, is the last day for voting in the California gubernatorial recall election. I encourage all eligible voters to participate and make their voices heard.
If you are voting by mail, your ballot must be postmarked on or before September 14 and received by your county election office within three days. If you are voting in person, be sure you make time in your schedule to stop by your vote center. Vote center and drop box locations can be found on the Registrar of Voter’s information page.
On campus, we have TWO options to vote:
- In person at the UCI Anteater Community Resource Center, located at the end of Lot 5 near the Mesa Court housing complex – free parking available in assigned spaces
- Or you can leave your completed ballot in UCI’s Orange County Registrar of Voters Official Ballot Drop Box, located on the corner of Campus Drive and West Peltason Drive near the bike repair shop
All voting centers will be open today until 8:00 p.m. and tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The drop boxes are open around the clock until 8:00 p.m. tomorrow night. I am authorizing one hour of administrative leave time to augment the lunch hour, with approval from supervisors and appropriate office coverage, to facilitate voting.
Orange County voters with questions should visit the OC Registrar of Voters website or call (714) 567-7600. Additional voting information can be found online from the California Secretary of State.
Every vote counts! Join me in voting in this election.
