REMINDER: Oct. 14 – UCI Town Hall

A friendly reminder to please join

Chancellor Howard Gillman and Interim Provost Hal Stern

for a faculty and staff Town Hall

Wednesday, Oct. 14
10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. via Zoom.

Your flexibility and excellent work during this unpredictable period are truly appreciated. With the fall quarter now underway, UCI leadership will provide important updates about our operations, how we continue to prepare and respond, and what we might expect in the near future.

Highlights include:

• Returning to Campus – Many of us are successfully working remotely and will continue to do so through the end of the winter quarter. We will continue to review the situation and give you advance notice if the outlook changes, recognizing you need time to plan for childcare and other personal obligations. We particularly appreciate those who have continued to work on campus during the last seven months.

• Financial Outlook – We’ve managed our budget and plans well, allowing us to ride out this storm. There are no plans for furloughs or layoffs at this time, other than our normal activity. Although the future is not certain, we are doing everything possible to maintain our workforce for the long term.

• Health and Safety – Keep up the great work on maintaining proper face covering and distancing, especially when we want to celebrate the new academic year and end-of-year activities with each other. The protocols remain necessary and mandatory. We’ll share tips and new information to help us stay healthy.

Space in the Zoom Town Hall webinar is limited to the first 3,000 participants. Attendees will be put in a waiting room before the event begins.

If you are unable to join the Zoom, you can view the livestream here.
Highlights of the event and a replay will be made available after the live event.
