Exercising Your Voting Rights

California’s Primary Election, Tuesday, June 5, is just a few days away. Our civic duty calls upon each of us to go to the polls and let our voices be heard on local, state and national candidates and issues. Today is the last day to register for this important election. If you are not already registered, you can go to sos.california.gov and register online.

In California, voters have the option, in addition to voting on Election Day, to cast their ballots through vote-by-mail or early voting. All registered voters throughout Orange County have the opportunity to vote prior to Election Day at any designated early voting center, one of which will be located at Irvine City Hall starting on Saturday, May 26, through Monday, June 4. In addition, UCI will host the OC Registrar of Voters’ mobile pop-up early voting site on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. Voters will be able to cast their votes between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the flag poles near Aldrich Hall. Anyone in line to vote at 8:00 p.m. will be accommodated.

If you are registered to vote in Orange County, please visit the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ Voting in Orange County website for current information such as locating your polling place, sample ballots and FAQs. For those registered to vote outside of Orange County, visit the California Secretary of State’s 2018 Statewide Direct Primary Election website for complete details on the election.

We encourage you to look at the candidates and issues carefully, make your choice and vote!
