To the Anteater Community:
It is with great pride that I congratulate Coach Russell Turner and our stellar men’s basketball team for their victory over Hawaii in the Big West Conference Tournament final this weekend. For the first time in Anteater history, UCI’s men’s basketball team will go to the Big Dance: the NCAA Tournament. They begin their journey this Friday, March 20, in Seattle against the University of Louisville.
This incredible feat is emblematic of the ferocious Anteater spirit. With hard work, dedication and tenacity – our students can accomplish anything.
At the championship game, it was exhilarating to see hundreds of students, faculty, staff and friends storm the basketball court to show their support for the Anteaters in their victory.
I hope you will celebrate this historic milestone as UCI takes part in March Madness.
