Campus safety and harassment
Dear Campus Community,
We are aware that non-affiliate individuals have been visiting our campus with the intent to target and intimidate members of our community. This doxxing behavior is loathsome and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms. Those behind these activities are debasing our political culture and attempting to undermine the values necessary to sustain a tolerant, diverse, democratic society.
We are reaching out to those who are most impacted by this activity to offer individualized support and resources.
We urge those who encounter this group to not engage and avoid confrontation. If anyone feels unsafe or threatened, they should immediately call 911.
Because this is a deeply disturbing feature of modern political discourse in a social media age, we have prepared a set of resources to support people who are targeted with online harassment.
Incidents of harassment can be reported through the following channels:
Additionally, mental health and trauma support resources for faculty, staff and students can be found on the Campus Climate website.
Let us commit to looking out for one another even when we disagree. We are a community premised on a commitment to mutual respect and care and to creating an environment consistent with our mission to pursue, achieve and transmit advanced knowledge for the betterment of humankind.
