Search for Chief Executive Officer of UC Irvine Medical Center

Dear colleagues:

I am pleased to share with you the news that we are initiating a search for the next chief executive officer of UC Irvine Medical Center. We seek to attract an outstanding candidate to provide leadership and vision as we move forward in discovery, teaching and healing.

We have formed the search committee that will help guide this important recruitment. The committee, bearing in mind our compelling interest in inclusive excellence, is charged with finding candidates with exemplary administrative and academic leadership experience who are capable of leading our medical center.

The committee is chaired by Michael Stamos, dean of the School of Medicine and professor of surgery, and is composed of the following members:

• Ron Cortez, vice chancellor & chief financial officer, Division of Finance & Administration
• Rebecca Brusuelas-James, associate vice chancellor & chief of staff, Health
• Jay Sial, chief financial officer, Health
• Shaista Malik, associate vice chancellor for integrative health and associate professor, Department of Cardiology
• Ruth Benca, chair & professor, Department of Psychiatry & Human Behavior
• Ramona Agrela, associate chancellor & chief human resources executive
• Pat Patton, chief nursing officer, Health
• Edwin Monuki, chair & professor, Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine
• Peter Schneider, chief health sciences counsel, Office of Campus Counsel
