UCI's Brilliant Future Campaign Reaches $1 Billion

April 6, 2021

I am delighted to share the exciting news that Brilliant Future: The Campaign for UCI has now surpassed $1 billion toward its $2 billion goal. Brilliant Future is the largest philanthropic and alumni engagement campaign in UCI’s history and on record for Orange County. Gifts and pledges come from more than 68,000 supporters and we have engaged over 44,000 alumni along the way.

Reaching this incredible milestone during one of the most challenging health crises in recent times is inspiring. It is a testament not only to the goodwill of our alumni and friends, but also to their unwavering confidence in our ability to create a brilliant future for our curious students, our hopeful patients, our proud alumni, inspired business leaders, and our gracious friends near and far.

The Brilliant Future campaign has allowed us to dramatically increase our investment in new programs and people so that we can reach new levels of excellence and leave an indelible mark on the world. To date, the campaign has supported innovative teaching and research, created more than 140 new scholarships, fellowships and student awards, established 38 new endowed chairs, the construction of new buildings, and much more. Gifts to UCI have bolstered our response to COVID-19 and enabled UCI Health to touch a greater number of patients in our community.

The tremendous investments made thus far in UCI and UCI Health as part of this campaign are truly transforming healthcare and wellness, accelerating world-changing research, supporting more students in their pursuit of the American dream, and allowing us to further our exploration of the human experience.

Above all, the Brilliant Future campaign is helping to unlock our true potential – the potential within each of us, the potential for new ideas, and the potential that’s realized when we all work together, even in difficult times.

What we have accomplished already is thrilling – and we are only halfway there. Let’s continue to be brilliant together.

Fiat Lux!
