UCI’s Chief of Police Jorge Cisneros manages operations that include the patrol and investigation divisions, emergency management and administration on campus and at the UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange. Chief Cisneros also works closely with the campus community, local neighborhoods and law enforcement agencies through the state. Chief Cisneros has over 27 years of police experience. He joined the Long Beach Police Department in 1990, where he worked in investigations, patrol and counter-terrorism. In July 2010, he was appointed chief of police for the Huntington Park Police Department. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1989 and an M.A. in Criminal Justice from Chapman University in 2002. He also graduated from the FBI National Academy in 2005. Chief Cisneros is currently the secretary and treasurer of Orange County Chiefs’ of Police and Sheriff’s Association; and past president of the Los Angeles County Chiefs’ of Police Association.
