The Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor is UCI's chief academic and operating officer. Under the direction of the chancellor, he assumes primary responsibility for the academic and organizational functioning of the campus and the advancement of the university's missions in research, teaching and service.

The Office of Strategic Communications & Public Affairs advances UCI’s reputation, mission, priorities and values through an integrated communication approach that includes brand development and management, community relations, executive communications, government relations and advocacy, media relations, marketing, publications and digital properties, special events and protocol, visual communication, and internal communications.

The Office of Campus Counsel advises the chancellor, the provost and executive vice chancellor, the vice chancellors, deans, health care executives and other campus leadership with respect to a broad range of legal issues at UCI.
The Office of Alumni Relations, through the UCI Alumni Association, seeks to enrich the lives of alumni and engage them in a lifelong advancement of UCI.
