UCI Alumni hosted a reception at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Chancellor Howard Gillman met with more than 80 alumni at a leadership conference and reception at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. on June 2. At the reception, he spoke about the important role public research universities play in terms of research contributions, policy-making, and the training of future leaders. Gillman was joined by Assistant Vice Chancellor for Alumni Relations Barney Ellis-Perry, Sustainability Initiative Director Abby Reyes, Professor of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Travis Huxman, Ayala School of Biological Sciences Dean Frank LaFerla, and Professor of Computer Science Nalini Venkatasubramanian. It was the second alumni event in D.C. in six months.
