As the first UCI Dreamers coordinator, Ana Miriam Barragan provides support services to the AB540 and undocumented student population. She also offers trainings and workshops to faculty, staff and students on AB540 and undocumented student issues, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, the California Dream Act, and how to create a safe environment for students. Before coming to UCI, Barragan worked for California State University Northridge’s Student Outreach and Recruitment Center. Barragan also played a fundamental role in the approval of its Dream Resource Center. She holds degrees in psychology and deaf studies, and is trilingual in English, Spanish and American Sign Language.
