Lorelei Tanji

Lorelei Tanji, university librarian since October 2012, leads the UCI Libraries, which provides collections and services that support UCI’s world-class research, teaching and patient care. She received her M.L.S. from UCLA and degrees in music from UC Davis (B.A.) and UCLA (M.A.). She joined UCI in 1990 as fine arts librarian, and served as associate university librarian for collections from 2002 to 2012. She represents the UCI Libraries at the campus, systemwide and national/international levels. She currently serves as the chair of the UC Libraries’ Council of University Librarians. She also will serve as the secretariat for the Pacific Rim Research Libraries Alliance from 2016 to 2018.
